At the start of November, all partners of the project, including the Cancer Registry of Norway (CNR), The Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Lund University, Computerome/DTU, IKNL, and Zealand University Hospital (CSS and FORSK), meet in Lund for the project’s general assembly.

The focus was to act on the insight the project has granted thus far to create the best solution for care of patients with colorectal cancer. Professor Ismail Gögenur (CSS) noted in his welcome speech that ”having the cross institutional insight is vital”.

Samuel Wiqvist and Martin Høyer Rose from CSS as well as Espen Enerly from CNR gave a status of the work with R1 and ‘1-year mortality’ in Denmark and Norway. Here it was discussed how much over-treatment we can tolerate when using the R1 model, since over-treatment also can cause critical complications for the patients.

In addition to evaluating the progress of the project, the agenda included two workshops with the focus on how to get the best outcome with the time left in the research project:

  • Clinical Workshop by Vegar Dagenborg & Ismail Gögenur
  • Technical Workshop by Samuel Wiqvist & Espen Enerly
